Soylent Cafe Review | Soylent + Caffeine = good way to start the day

The caffeinated version of soylent is all you would expect from soylent, but with delicius coffee flavours

Caffeine is the START button for a lot of us. Without it, we are more lost than Napoleon and Hitler in the Russian winter. Jokes aside, Soylent Cafe brings us the best of two worlds by providing us with a balanced breakfast option and the coffee we need to start the day -I know some of you will struggle having breakfast and will skip it; please do not! There are plenty of alternatives out there.

Back to the matters in hand, you will find Soylent Cafe tasty and easy to drink. However, we would recommend trying them out first, as some users have reported some unusual bowel movements after use or have only liked certain flavours -mocha seems to be the winner.

If you are browsing from EU, Soylent Cafe is only available in the UK. Check out Saturo Coffee instead.

Nutrition Overview

Soylent Cafe is pretty much identical to Soylent Drink. A vegan meal replacement that provides you with 400kcal per serving, 21g of fats, 37g of carbs and 20g of protein. We have already discussed the nutritional details in the Soylent Drink review (click to go).

However, here is a rough summary:

  • Soylent provides less carbs than the recommended intake. However, this is not low enough to put your body in ketosis.
  • You get the energy that you miss in the carbs from fats.
  • Main fat source is high oleic sunflower oil. Sunflower oil is low in omega-3 and you might need to supplement your diet with omega-3 rich foods.
  • Soy Protein Isolate is the main protein source.
  • Soylent Cafe is fairly low in fiber. We recommend eating more fiber, if possible
  • Allergens: Soy.

Conclusion

Who is Soylent Cafe for?

For those who like Soylent Drink but want to take it in the morning. Captain obvious statement there.

In all fairness, we think Soylent Cafe is a great product, and it is great for both breakfast and lunch. It also offers more flavour alternatives to Soylent Drink. So, if fits all who love caffeine are looking for a fast meal.

Does it taste good?

Yes it does. Our favourite is the Cafe Mocha. Nuf said.

Will I get all the nutrients I need?

Of course. You will get a fifth of all macro- and micro-nutrients based on a 2,000kcal diet. The points to watch out would be fiber and omega-3. We recommend taking extra of these, if you are going ham on Soylent. Also, remember to balance your energy needs to how much Soylent you consume.

I want to buy it. How much will it cost me?

You will pay a little more than the powder Soylent version, but same as Soylent Drink. It is going to be over $3 in the Soylent store and higher if you buy it in 7-Elevens or other stores.

Wait a moment, is it perfect?

This is always a retorical question. No, it is not. It has some nutritional deficiencies, as pointed out; you are paying a premium just for some caffeine (at least is cheaper than a Starbucks…) and the convenience. Anyhow, it is a great product and we strongly recommend it.

Veredict

Great product, especially, for those who tend to skip breakfast. A bit of caffeine, good nutrition and easy to consume. It does certainly make things easier. There is a price to the confort, but it is well worth it.
